If you need a license to drive a scooter or moped in China?

I can teach China some time … I love biking, but I also like riding motorcycles and scooters (yes, there is a difference). Has anyone been to China? Do you need a license to drive one, as the United States? I mean the bikes are very cheap there, so it is likely that this route, but if I can find a cheap moped, it would be fun.

You need a motorcycle or scooter license. You can drive an electric bike without a license. China does not recognize an international license, not upset.
