What are my Bettas do?
Well, I have a gallon tank with three males and two females (I know, is too small). I fed high protein pellets. On or about March watch today (7/15/08), my male builds a nest of bubbles! Now, I had no intention of mating my Bettas. 15 minutes later, the male and the female cycle! Eggs are flying everywhere! So I stopped for 20 minutes looking for someone and when I arrived home, the nest of bubbles and all its contents are gone. All three of my fish are fine. What happened?
EEEEEEEK! I'm not sure what was in mind when he created this tank set-up, but if you want dead fish have to change soon as possible. There is very lucky that the casualties are eggs Betta reactions. Unless want it happening again why the hell you are housing together – in the spirit of man female Betta is good for one thing – breeding. If she was in no mood for play he would have regarded as a threat and attack (I have also seen this work in the other direction … one of my men is not much of their fins, because his wife was not interested) Bettas, especially men, are very territorial fish, which are perfectly capable of ripping each other to shreds in a very short time. I suppose you want to create a harem "tank with a male and a female couple – despite This configuration helps alleviate the aggression in some species – It is not safe for bettas. I've heard from some people exceptionally smooth maintenance men with women's groups in a large tank (as in Big 55g +)… but most people who know nothing Betta bettas recommended in a 3G. Separate them now in every way possible. male bettas should ALWAYS be housed alone unless you intend to come across (and even well, most breeders do not keep men and women in a few days). female bettas can be housed together, but you must choose at least two other girls … and 10g tank with a bunch of plastic garbage in it to hide. Normally, I do not use capital letters in a post this item, please, Please, Please remove females in the tank and provide fish with alternative housing.
